Are you sitting comfortably? Whether it's mindfulness, breathwork or Tibetan Buddhist, our meditation courses honour a broad range of traditions.
The College of Psychic Studies recognises the fundamental importance of meditation to our journey of awakening. Simple meditation techniques are included in the syllabus of many of our psychic and mediumship trainings. However, we invite you to enhance your practice and take your journey deeper. Join us for our meditation classes to train the mind, slow the breath and tap into the well of peace within. Or cultivate a regular practice with our guided Midweek Meditations.
We regularly add courses to our programme. Keep checking back to see our upcoming Meditation & Mindfulness courses. Or sign up to our newsletter (scroll down) for regular updates on our upcoming events.
Lockdown has opened our eyes to how busy and stressful our lives can be. Do you wonder how you used to fit everything and everyone in? Does the thought of going back to all that busy-ness stress you out? Or perhaps lockdown is opening up a whole new set of stresses? Are you concerned about finances, work opportunities, going into crowded places?
2021 is going to be challenging. There’s going to be lots of change and uncertainty for all of us. Whilst there will always be things outside of our control, our stress is something we can manage, with the right tools.
Yoga Nidra, translated as yogic sleep, is a sleep-based meditation technique that has been proven to effectively help manage stress, promoting a calmer, more balanced way of navigating whatever life brings.
During this six-week course, we will explore the biology of stress and the differences between eustress (positive stress), distress and chronic stress. We will learn about the science behind Yoga Nidra, about what happens to the brain during the practice, and about why it is such an effective relaxation and stress management tool.
Each class will include a full guided experience of I AM Yoga Nidra, the Integrated Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra, and the opportunity to ask questions. Yoga Nidra recordings will be provided so that you can practice at home between sessions.
Make yourself comfortable at home, somewhere where you can relax and be undisturbed. You will be lying down for most of this session, experiencing Yoga Nidra, so have your yoga mat or something soft to lie on handy, a cushion or pillow and a blanket.
Here's what some of Grainne's previous students have said about her Yoga Nidra sessions:
"It was a lovely experience and nidra journey, held so well by Grainne, inspiration to learn more about nidra especially the method that Grainne uses! She has the most amazing voice that carries you and makes you feel safe the whole time! Looking forward to attending more of her classes!
"Grainne makes Yoga Nidra very accessible and provides clear information. I really enjoy her sessions."
"I was so inspired by Grainne's yoga nidra, she held the space so well and felt fully supported throughout, there was time for integration and questions, I look forward to attending more of Grainnes classes for sure! Thank you for sharing your wonderful knowledge."
