In many global traditions, the vibration of sound is the ultimate creative principle. In Vedic texts, the sound vibration holds the fabric of the universe together, and chanting sacred mantras maintains order over chaos. In later Abrahamic religions, the world was created through the word, the sound vibration. With our voice, we are blessed with a sacred technology that gives us the ultimate power to create.
This kundalini yoga workshop reveals the power of the voice in creating, in healing, and in destroying what no longer serves us. We use kriyas (movements), mantras and meditations to experience the power of our voice by exploring different ways of engaging with sound and mantra. Ultimately, we discover how our voice can elevate our consciousness and create a new paradigm within which we can master our domain.
This workshop is for everyone, regardless of level or ability. All you need to practise is an open mind and willing spirit. You may find some of the movements challenging but always worth your best efforts.
Please have a yoga mat or rug to practice on, or a chair if you find it uncomfortable to practice on the floor. You will also need enough space around you to be able to comfortably lie flat on your back. Please wear comfy clothes appropriate for movement, and have some water handy.
This workshop will be live on Zoom. All you need to take part is a computer with a webcam and microphone.
We have chosen Zoom as our online classroom as it's very easy to download and use. If you do not have Zoom, visit https://zoom.us/ and sign up for free.
