A Shamanic Pilgrimage to Peru

Davina MacKail
Sunday 16 November - Thursday 27 November
8:00am - 10:00pm

A magical shamanic pilgrimage to the land of the 2012 prophecies. The Dalai Lama himself said that the Spiritual energies of the planet are moving from Tibet to Peru and if you walk on this sacred land you can feel the absolute truth of that. For the Inca this is a time of heralding in the Golden Age of humanity. Our journey will include ceremony with medicine plants and teachings from many Peruvian traditions.

This is not a tourist trip, for although we will get to visit the famous places we will see them through the eyes of the Inca and the indigenous peoples of this land. I have worked with the Q’ero here since 2002 and they are my sacred family. This will be a truly life changing experience and you will be cossetted in the love of these people and be exceptionally well cared for. Once you have confirmed your booking I will work with you to prepare you for getting the most from this most sacred of opportunities.

This is the itinerary but please be aware we are visiting an underdeveloped country and all plans are subject to change. However, also rest assured that if plans change normally something even more magical occurs to take its place.

I met Puma Quispe for the first time in 2002. In my humble opinion we could not have a better ‘master of ceremonies’. He has learned from his grandfather and other masters since childhood, he is tri-lingual Quechua, Spanish and English - there will be no translation problem. Everyone who knows him can attest to his unflagging, ever joyful and wise spirit. All the masters we are working with, needless to say, are the ‘real thing’ and bring a generous spirit that allows them to share the depth, the humour and the wisdom of their own paths and the traditions they represent: Puma and Dona Irene in the Cuzco area and Don Sebastian and Dona Philippa in the high mountain Qero tradition. And of course we certainly must mention the generous spirit and great teachings available to us from Pachamama and the Apus, for they will guide us all.

We recommend that you attend the two day workshop: An Introduction to Shamanism: Summer term dates: Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June if you would like to join this pilgrimage.

Sunday November 16th

By Sunday afternoon we gather in Cuzco and promptly head (down altitude) to Urubamba, a small town in Peru, located near the Urubamba River under the snowcapped mountain Ch’iqun. We will have a chance to relax and acclimatise. In the evening our gifted shaman and guide, Puma Quispe, will introduce us to the journey before us and speak of the Peruvian medicine traditions he began to learn as a small child, taught by his grandfather in the traditional ways of family apprenticeship.

Day 2

In the morning we will have the opportunity to wander the streets and temples of Ollyantaytambo a very important and magnificent Inca temple site. We will connect with the sacred tree of Life and learn about the miracles of working with the four elements. After lunch we start to learn how to work with the Mesa in Pachar the inter-dimensional portal. This will also be our first opportunity to work in ceremony with San Pedro the ancestral medicine for those that choose. We will overnight in Urubamba.

Day 3

We embark on our journey to Machu Picchu visiting the sacred Cristal Condor temple for ceremonial attunement on the way and stay overnight in Aquas Caliente at the foot of Machu Picchu hopefully with enough time to enjoy bathing in the hot springs.

Day 4

Rise before sunrise to catch the first light at Machu Picchu with opportunities to hike Waynapicchu Mountain or the Inca Bridge. In the afternoon we catch the train back to Ollantaytambo after a memorable day in the Inka citadel and on to Chinchero, Puma’s home village, where we will visit traditional weavers (this is an ancient weaving culture of great sophistication and beauty) and connect with the remarkable sacred stones they are famous for here.

Day 5

This will be a teaching day assisted by other shamans. We will learn to work with our Apus, the Mountain spirits liberating all heaviness from the heart with an opportunity, for those who choose, to work again with the sacred San Pedro medicine in ceremony.

Day 6

Working with Qero master don Sebastian and also with medicine woman Dona Irene we will visit Moray, the Incan ruins near the town of Maras, the sacred womb of Pachamama for ceremonial and healing work.

Day 7

We will visit the spectacular site of Sacsayhuaman and journey to Cusco where we will visit a number of sacred temple sites around Cusco with more opportunities for personal healing work. We will spend our last night in Cusco enjoying a celebration dinner.

Day 8 Today we begin our journey south east to Lake Titicaca after first visiting the sacred temples of light in Raqchi and the temple of spiritual initiations in Pucara. Eventually we will arrive at Puno in the area of Lake Titicaca the temple of illumination where we will overnight.

Day 9

We will board our private motor boat to Amantani Island and visit with the local people. This day we also have the opportunity to visit our ancestral lineages via our ancestry in the stars and star civilizations on our Pachamama and delve deeper into shamanic teachings with our guides. We will stay overnight in Amantani and will also visit the floating islands of Uros where the oldest people of the Andes reside.

Day 10

After breakfast we will visit the temple of Pacha Tata or our cosmic father and we will work with our sacred medicine wachuma (San Pedro) to allow ourselves to work deeper with our personal connections to the spirits of this land. In the afternoon we will journey back to Puno to eat, relax and prepare for the next day, staying overnight in Puno.

Day 11

Transfer by our private bus to the sacred temple of the serpent and the Lemurian masters, where we will have our last ceremony with the sacred medicine. We will spend our last night in the Puno area enjoying a farewell dinner and celebration with our wonderful team of friends and shamans.

I began my formal five year shamanic training in New York and subsequently made three pilgrimages to study with the Q'ero lineage directly. These are direct descendants from the Inca who lived in the high Andes. I am now acknowledged as a 'Master of Masters' by the Q'ero.
