Dr Louise Fenton is an artist, historian and anthropologist specialising in Haitian Vodou, West African Vodun, New Orleans Voodoo and European Witchcraft (PhD Caribbean History, Warwick). 

She is a Senior Lecturer in Contextual Studies at the University of Wolverhampton, UK. Her current research is focussed on documenting Vodun in Benin through notebooks, drawings and photographs and promoting the reality of this religion after many years working in the country. 

Louise travels to West Africa frequently for her research and to take small tours to introduce and immerse guests in Vodun. She is finishing her forthcoming book A Cabinet of Curses: Poppets, Pins and Power (Troy Books), with Voodoo: West African Vodun and the Diaspora (Wooden Books) to be published in 2026.
