Mila Nowacka is an artist, art history graduate and mother. Her practice explores the relationship between the body, perception, and environment. While her current practice is centred on drawing, its methodology is highly influenced by her long-standing engagement with video technologies. She uses feedback, error, and sensory experience as research-based and artistic tools, investigating processes of destabilisation and re-stabilisation, alternative modes of cognition, and the intersections of contemporary art, spirituality, and media theory.
She is particularly interested in the cycles of imbalance and return to stability - processes present in every system and deeply affected by human behaviour. Currently, she is working on a series of drawings that visualise her own body from within, exploring the sensations associated with individual internal organs and various processes.
