Carlos André Machado Evangelho, known spiritually as André Evangelho, is a priest of Umbanda, an active medium and the founder of Casa de Cura in Vargem Grande, Rio de Janeiro. Since the age of 18, he has walked the Umbanda path without interruption, maintaining a deep and disciplined relationship with the spiritual plane.
At 36, he began his journey as a medium in a spiritist centre in Rio de Janeiro, working in Umbanda ceremonies, shamanic rituals and spiritual surgeries, with a focus on energetic healing and spiritual realignment. At 42, in 2017, he followed guidance from the Higher Plane to found his own spiritual house — Casa de Cura — dedicated to incorporation work, collective and individual spiritual services, disobsession, harmonisation and healing rituals.
Pai André coordinates the weekly works at Casa de Cura, overseeing the development of mediums, conducting ceremonies with Pretos‑Velhos, Caboclos and other spiritual lines, and guiding all those who seek healing and spiritual alignment.
An Umbanda priest, theologian and Reiki practitioner, André performs shamanic rituals and builds bridges between healing traditions — Afro‑Brazilian, shamanic and energetic — always grounded in ethics, mediumistic discipline and respect for spiritual hierarchies. His work is distinguished by a pedagogical approach to mediumship: training, guiding and supporting developing mediums towards responsible spiritual service.
