Shannon Taggart is a photo-based artist and author in St. Paul, MN, USA. In a past life, she made pictures for printed publications such as Newsweek, New York Times Magazine, Discover, New York, Wall Street Journal, and Reader's Digest. Her book Séance, named one of TIME Magazine's 'Best Photobooks of 2019', has been featured by CNN Style, Bookforum, Washington Post, New York Times T Style Magazine, Lensculture, Le Monde, Financial Times, and The Paris Review.

Her work has been exhibited internationally and recognized by Nikon, The Inge Morath Foundation + Magnum Photos, The Alexia Foundation for World Peace, and American Photography, among others. Shannon has spoken at many venues, including the Yale School of Art, Peabody-Essex Museum, The Gallery of Everything, Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Walker Art Center

Every summer she curates and host a Symposium in Lily Dale, NY. Currently, she is completing an illustrated book about the Society for Research on Rapport and Telekinesis (SORRAT), one of the strangest cases in the history of psychical research.
