Have you ever noticed how certain colours move you? You reach for that piece of clothing because the colour simply makes you feel good, or powerful, or mystical. You paint your room in soft blues to anchor calmness and peacefulness, or warm ochres to invite cosy comfort and grounded inspiration. You choose flowers in crimsons and pinks to gift someone you love, or yellows and greens for healing, knowing these colours will lift their spirit. These aren't random choices. You're already in dialogue with colour, already sensing what each one can awaken and amplify – be it empowerment, comfort or love.
Colour beyond the visual
On a deeper level, colour transcends mere visual observation altogether. You don't just look at it – you experience it. Colour holds vibration. It's a feeling, an essence, a language the soul speaks fluently, even when the thinking mind doesn't understand the full picture.
Why does this matter? Because colour speaks a language beyond words. You possess multiple forms of intelligence: your intellectual intelligence, yes, but also your emotional and intuitive intelligence. Colour speaks to them all. This makes colour a powerful ally – not only for expression, but for healing, alignment and wisdom. Colour is a gateway through which every level of intelligence can work in synergy.
Colour as an intuitive tool
In my own work with colour, I've realised it holds both light and shadow, and that duality is where the real teaching lives. It's not simply about colour symbolism from a book, but about experiencing the colour itself: What are you showing me? What is your story in this situation? Because here's the truth: you don't need to be clairvoyant to access colour as an intuitive tool. You can feel it. You can know it. And for some, you may even taste it, or smell it. Your intuitive intelligence is already limitless.
Exploring colour as an intuitive tool invites the analytical mind to soften, and the unnoticed to become known. Through exploration and direct experience, you learn that your intuition is real, that what you sense matters, and that in most cases, you're far more intuitive than you've allowed yourself to believe.
For me, shades of blue move through my awareness as I prepare for readings – a communicative ally guiding me into calm, centred, intuitive alignment. Over the years, it's become woven into my branding: a symbol of evolutionary growth and trust in my intuition and connection with Spirit. When you explore colour this way, you're not just looking; you're experiencing.
How colour helped me manifest
When I was in university, all I wanted was to travel and work abroad. In meditation, I asked: what's the feeling state of already being there, doing this, living this? Yellow appeared. But I didn't like yellow. It challenged my definition of happiness, of what I'd known to be true. Why was I resisting this colour?
So I painted my bedroom wall bright yellow to experience it differently. Every day, I sat with that colour, owning the frequency of someone already living and working abroad. Yellow wasn't pretty to me. But it was true. It showed me where my own biases were blocking my alignment. Each time I resisted the colour, I was resisting the frequency of my own manifestation. When I stopped resisting and started embracing it, everything shifted. My energy changed. My decisions aligned. My perspective cleared. And within months, I moved overseas.
Yellow inspired the informed decisions that got me there. It sparked my curiosity and confidence to leave what I'd known as my only truth and discover a new reality. Yellow was all about perception for me; it opened my awareness to clarity even when my logic could find none.
A colour visualisation for self-discovery
Close your eyes. Invite a colour to arise within your awareness, without judgement, simply with curiosity. Sit with it, not as an idea, but as an experience. What does it awaken within you? What sensations or knowings arise? Notice the texture and temperature, where it may appear on the body, and how it moves or remains static. Let your colour curiosity lead you. Then write down what you experienced.
Now ask yourself: What is this colour showing me about what I need right now? There's no 'correct' answer; your intuition knows. This colour is your soul speaking directly to you. Trust what arises.
Colour can be a fascinating teacher for the spiritual seeker. In exploring it, you step not only into the magick of colour, but into the magick of your soul's intuitive insight.
