In my lifelong study of metaphysics, nothing has had more impact than this question: is my elemental balance operative? No one ever tells you your embodiment of the four elements – Fire, Earth, Air & Water – informs the manifestation of your health, wisdom, and evolution. I have watched students change their life with the simple indicator that they're not dancing with their Earth (work), or they've lost their connection with Water (intuition). They no longer have enthusiasm (Fire), and their minds live in a constant state of confusion and indecisiveness (Air). When we balance these four elements in our unique way, we step into the optimum version of our life.

Become the Magician of your life

Since the 15th century, every tarot deck has opened with the same card: the Magician, card number one. On his table sit the four elements – Fire, Water, Air and Earth. It is essential that we include them in the production of any kind of magic; without them, there is no magic to speak of. And magic isn't something separate from your life – it is your life. The moment you learn to work with the raw materials sitting right in front of you, the four elements, you are working – and living – magically.

Identifying the missing element

It doesn't take me long by looking at your chart and your elemental distribution to identify what life is trying to teach you. The specifics of the soul contract that you signed are written in your chart. Identifying the missing element (the title of my book) is how we create balance in your world in order to fulfill your spiritual promise.

Often, it is counterintuitive to bring forward the missing element because it's an unnatural ingredient that 1. you didn't recognise you were missing, or 2. you don't know how to cultivate it.

In my 50 years of being a therapist, astrologer, and healer, nothing has more impact than the instruction of how to incorporate your personality into a divine instrument.

    Four wheels, four elements

Our four elements are like the four wheels on a car. In order to drive with efficiency and balance, each wheel has to be equal. If one of those wheels is low, and you don't recognise and diagnose it, you'll be moving through your world with discomfort. The language of the elements is a simple foundation for all of magic, as well as being the foundation for astrology itself.

    • If you're missing Water, your meditation practice will be limited, your intuition will be confusing, and your capacity for intimacy will be lacking.
    • If you're missing Air, your decision making is uncomfortable, you may have lost faith in friendships or relationships, and your mind has a will of its own that doesn't always serve your best interest.
    • If you're missing Earth, the feeling of comfort in your body and the reduction of worry and anxiety are at a distance. While you long to organize and clean, practicality escapes you.
    • And if you're missing Fire, the fun factor, the joy, the humor, the faith in your abilities, may have diminished.

    Reawaken your joy

Any one of these elements is running on less than full has your dreams at a distance. It may have you questioning what it is about life (or you) that won't allow your healing and joy to be fully experienced.

Let your inner magician reveal the means to shift the block that you may not even know exists. This is the advantage of studying the four elements, and using your chart and elemental distribution as the resource to reawaken your joy.
