Brigantia, from whom the Brigantes tribe took their name, was warrior, tribal and sovereign goddess of the Britons and the Romans during Roman occupation in Britain. Get to know her in this livestream talk.
In this online talk, Pauline Breen will weave archaeological and linguistic evidence from Romano-British inscriptions to consider Brigantia's possible existence in Britain as mother goddess before the arrival of the Romans.
Through inscriptions and craftmanship, we get a sense of who Brigantia was for both her Celtic and classical devotees. A maternal yet military figure, a wild woman yet regal queen, Brigantia can still be venerated today as an authoritative figure of strength and courage and a beacon of hope in our personal wars and the physical wars happening in our world.
Book now to discover a powerful and relatable figure in Brigantia, as relevant today as she was for our distant ancestors.
