Believed to be an incarnation of H P Blavatsky, Aleksandra Ionowa's (1899-1980) life as an artist under the guidance of the spirit world began in July 1946. Discover her extraordinary life and work in this livestream talk.

In this online talk, Dr Nina Kokkinen will discuss the life and works of Finnish artist Aleksandra Ionowa (1899-1980). As a spirit-guided artist, she created hundreds if not thousands of works that shed light on the artist's visions relating to spiritual realms and peace. These artworks offer a fascinating insight into the history of esotericism and mediumistic or visionary art in Finland.

This talk will explore the themes and starting points of Ionowa's mediumistic art, but also the Theosophical and Co-Masonic background of the artist and her lifelong partner Selma Mäkelä. Both women were driven by a tremendous desire for spiritual development. Ionowa and Mäkelä sought peace above all else - peace of mind, but also peace between Finland and Russia during the interwar period.

During Dr Nina Kokkinen's research into Aleksandra Ionowa, she also learned the most closely guarded secret of Ionowa's inner circle: that Ionowa was believed to be an incarnation of H. P. Blavatsky.

This talk will include a discussion and Q&A with Nina, facilitated by College of Psychic Studies curator and archivist, Jacqui McIntosh.
