In 2025, The College of Psychic Studies acquired two volumes of dream transcripts written by Ithell Colquhoun. This in-person talk celebrates these transcripts, exploring the significance of dreams and other nocturnal experiences in Colquhoun's life.
Artist Ithell Colquhoun (1906-1988) used her dreams as raw material for her novels, short stories and poems, and she regularly painted them. Dreams and visitations also played an important role in her magical studies.
This in-person talk will explore why her dreams were so inspirational and how they shaped her creative and magical activities.
The event will include a discussion and Q&A with Richard Shillitoe, facilitated by the College's curator and archivist, Jacqui McIntosh.
Book now to join us in celebrating this extraordinary artist. A selection of Ithell Colquhoun's dream transcripts are also on display in the College's concurrent exhibition, The Medium is the Message.
