Discover the wisdom of psychopomps – soul guides of ancient tradition – and explore how their teachings can illuminate your life path in this in-person workshop with psychotherapist Tiffany Lazic.

Defined in ancient Greek as 'guides of souls', psychopomps have appeared in every culture and tradition around the world, from Egypt's Anubis and Greece's Orpheus to the Valkyries of Norse mythology. Bridging the physical and non-physical, psychopomps accompany the newly dead into the realms beyond. Yet their wisdom is not limited to literal death. Stemming from the same etymological root as psychology – the study of the soul – the psychopomp tradition offers profound guidance for the inner journey: for times of transition, uncertainty, loss and the dark nights of the soul that can feel impossible to navigate alone.

In a world marked by rising anxiety, depression and a profound sense of lostness, these ancient soul guides have never felt more relevant.

What to expect:

This in-person workshop unfolds across two parts. The morning introduces the main Books of the Dead, ancient concepts of the transition from life to death and an overview of key psychopomps from world traditions – alongside a revised psychopomp framework for modern psychological and spiritual application.

After lunch, you will be guided through a meditative ritual: an opportunity to meet these soul guides directly and open yourself to the one whose energy and wisdom best meets where you are in your own journey right now.

This in-person workshop includes:

  • An introduction to the world's major Books of the Dead and their teachings on transition
  • Key psychopomps from ancient and indigenous traditions around the world
  • How psychopomp wisdom applies to modern experiences of grief, loss, anxiety and inner darkness
  • A revised psychopomp framework for contemporary psychological and spiritual practice
  • An interactive meditative ritual to encounter soul guides and open to their guidance

This workshop is for you if:

  • You are navigating a significant life transition, loss or period of inner darkness
  • You are drawn to mythology, the afterlife and the wisdom of ancient traditions
  • You work with soul guides, archetypes or ritual and want to deepen your practice
  • You are a therapist, counsellor or spiritual practitioner seeking fresh frameworks for working with transition
  • You are curious about the intersection of psychology, mythology and spiritual experience

Whether you are already familiar with psychopomps or entirely new to these ideas, this workshop offers both a rich introduction and a genuinely transformative experience. Book now to join.
