Amulets and talismans are magical items that protect or aid us. There are many different kinds and they've been used by cultures all over the world since ancient times. Learn all about them in this livestream workshop.

Although the words 'amulet', 'talisman' and 'charm' are often used interchangeably, they're subtly different.

Amulets are believed to have intrinsic properties that protect the wearer or attract luck, such as a four-leaf clover or an acorn, or religious symbols with inherent positive powers.

Talismans are made and enchanted for a magical purpose, often inscribed with sigils and planetary symbols.

Charms were originally spoken spells, but nowadays many of us also use the term for tokens worn for luck or as mementos.

This livestream workshop will explore amulets, talismans and charms in history and today. We'll think about objects we have and keep for luck or that we feel are imbued with beneficial magic.

There will also be a guided visualisation and the opportunity to make easy amulets and talismans for yourself using paper, pens or pencils.
