Every home should have a gong. This in-person workshop is an introduction to the gong as a personal instrument for daily life: for self-healing, meditation, grounding and wellbeing.
The gong is far more than a musical instrument – as a home practice, it can support psychic and spiritual attunement, deepen and enrich relationships with guides, angels and spirits, cleanse and clear the energetic field, and provide essential grounding. It is particularly valuable for those working professionally with others. Having a gong in your home is not only a wellness choice, but an investment in your continued development and practice. For those engaged in psychic and energetic development, the gong is a particularly powerful companion: the deep altered states it induces – theta and delta brainwave states – are the same states in which clairvoyant perception, mediumship and spiritual receptivity naturally arise.
What to expect
This workshop invites you to meet the gong directly: to understand it, play it, and consider whether it might have a place in your life. You will begin as a listener, receiving a guided gong meditation, before learning technique and spending hands-on time with the instrument yourself, with feedback and support throughout. This is a practical, experiential, in-person session held in the beautiful space of The College of Psychic Studies lecture hall.
This in-person workshop includes:
- Understanding the gong: what it actually is, how it works, and why it affects us so profoundly — the physics and the felt experience
- A guided gong meditation, experiencing the instrument as listener before approaching it as player
- Gong technique: mallets, dynamics, intention, and finding a personal relationship with the sound
- Hands-on practice with individual feedback and support
- Guidance on creating a home gong practice – for yourself, with a partner, or with children
- An introduction to gong-making traditions, materials, and choosing the right gong and size for home use
