Through inspiration and spirit connection, this in-person workshop invites you to experience the energies of the College's current exhibitions, Ethelwynne M Quail: The Kingdom of the Gods and The Etheric Body, and to create your own piece of spirit art.

Spirit art is a form of mediumship in which the artist opens to inspiration from the spirit world, allowing images, colours and forms to flow through them onto the page. Through automatic drawing and painting, the conscious mind steps aside, and impressions, messages and energies are given visual expression. Art has long been a bridge between the seen and unseen worlds, and spending time with inspired artworks can awaken our own sensitivity, helping us to attune to the subtle energies around us.

Your facilitator, College tutor and consultant Anji Main, is both a medium and an artist, and brings a wealth of experience leading art-based and spirit-based practical workshops. This rare combination makes her the ideal guide to help you bring spirit connection and creative expression together.

What to expect

The workshop begins with a group visit to Ethelwynne M. Quail: The Kingdom of the Gods and The Etheric Field. You'll enjoy time with the artworks, soaking in their energies and themes, and listening to the messages and gifts they bring. The group will then move to a workshop space to continue exploring your individual responses through automatic drawing and painting, creating a personal piece of spirit art to take home. This is a practical, interactive workshop, closing with an opportunity for group appreciation and sharing.

Paper, watercolours and pastels will be provided by the College, but you're welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

"A wonderful and truly enriching and inspiring workshop, which I gained so much from. Anji Main was encouraging and engaging. It was also fabulous that the college opened rooms for us to see the art there too which really added to the day and our work in the afternoon."

"Anji Main was an incredible facilitator. This workshop on automatic art was an incredible day and suitable for beginners to experienced artists. Anji held a supportive and encouraging energy towards all participants, honestly a standout in any art-focused workshop I have attended.
