This course is designed to be an introduction to the rich world of Norse Shamanism and the Northern Tradition.

During these 9 weeks, you will be shown how to work on your own personal rune set. Andreas will bring blank runes from especially sourced birch wood for each student to create so that by the end of this course you will have your own rune set.

Topics included are:

Week 1 - What is Norse Shamanism? What are runes and why are they so important? What is a symbol? Why study myth and story? First steps in entering the deep imagination of runic symbolism. Keeping a rune journal.

Week 2 - Navigating the Tree of Life and tuning our ears to the mythical dimension. Facing the Gods and Goddesses. Understanding myth cycles and the mythological background of the runes.

Week 3 - The first initiation: how to pray, cast runes, read and send.

Week 4 - Studying the magical talismans from the ancient world: including spells and bind runes and how to make your own. Exploring the mysteries of Mithras, numerology, lost star constellations and the precession of the equinoxes. Experience ceremony (blessing). Ancestral clearing ritual.

Week 5 - Mapping of your own spirit world, journeying to the nine worlds of the world tree. Completing your runes with a ceremony to Goddess Freya.

Week 6 - Words through the darkness towards the living flame. Divination and learning how to speak from soul. Study the concept of personal fate and universal destiny. How to give rune readings to help and assist in times of urgency and need. Ethical considerations with full practical applications.

Week 7 - A Goddess behind every rune, a feminist view of the rune meanings. Completing your rune set. A healing casting for the whole group with initiatory work - moving towards the intuitive.

Week 8 - Practical casting and reading of runes. Questions, trials and how to evolve in the art of rune casting and soul-mending.

Week 9 - Advanced work with journeys to the upper and lower worlds, working with the ancient high seat ceremony.
