This evening, David Lorimer will talk to us about the Gnostic Gospel of Mary Magdalene (the Beloved Companion), which was published in English in 2010. The Gospel shows Mary Magdalene as the Apostle to the Apostles and the one who understands the inner meaning of his message.

It is translated from Alexandrian Greek and is said to have arrived in Languedoc with Mary Magdalene around 50AD and may well have been the spiritual treasure of the Cathars. The text has much in common with the Gospel of John and with the Gnostic Gospels of Thomas and Mary.

It is a spiritually powerful and integral narrative that does not seem to have been edited and tampered with, as is the case with the canonical gospels (the first four books of the New Testament, approved - canonized by the church).
