Meet your tutor, Helena B. Scott

Helena B. Scott is a writer, historian, linguist and Jungian analyst who works in historical revisionism, specialising in history, symbolism and philosophy, memory, mythopoetics and cultural heritage. She holds a Master of Arts in Public History & Cultural Heritage from the University of Limerick (2025), completed following her MA internship with Waterford Medieval Museum, and her research has centred on Norse and medieval history, with a particular specialism in the Knights Templar.

In October 2025, Helena launched Ireland's first-ever Templar public history festival, Waterford Templar Historical Day, developed as part of her MA dissertation and held at the Kilbarry Templar Cemetery, one of Ireland's principal Templar preceptories. Her research there uncovered previously unrecorded archaeology and expanded the site's known history, work recognised with a Certificate of Recognition from OSMTH Ireland. In April 2026, Helena was awarded the Cross of Merit (Meriti Crux) – the highest honour bestowed by the Sovereign Order of the Knights Templar of Saint Martin – in recognition of her research and contributions to Templar history, presented as keynote speaker at the international conference "St Martin, Precursor of the Christian Knightly Orders."

Helena lectures at The College of Psychic Studies and at conferences and events across Europe, and is currently working on a Templar trilogy drawing together her original research. Her combination of academic rigour, original archival discovery, and firsthand fieldwork makes her uniquely placed to guide this exploration of the Templars' hidden network across England, Scotland and Ireland.
