End of life is not just a medical event – it is a deeply human, emotional, psychological, spiritual and practical passage. This livestream workshop offers a person-centred exploration of the real needs that can arise as someone approaches death, and for the loved ones walking alongside them.
Led by Tree Carr, a working death doula with over a decade of experience holding compassionate space at the edges of life and death, this livestream workshop focuses on the non-medical zones of end-of-life care.
This online workshop includes:
- Exploring the emotional and psychological landscapes of dying
- The philosophical and spiritual questions that often surface around death
- The very real, pragmatic considerations that support dignity, meaning and presence at the end of life
This is not palliative care training, nursing or medical instruction. Instead, it offers insight into the human experience of dying – how to listen deeply, how to respond with sensitivity, how to support both the dying person and their family members, and how to remain grounded when things feel tender, uncertain or profound.
This workshop is suitable for carers, therapists, doulas-in-training and anyone wishing to approach death with more awareness, confidence and compassion.

We will not be recording this workshop. One of the unique aspects of the College's online events is that they are highly interactive. Participants are encouraged to discuss and share with the tutor and the group. These sharings can be very personal, and some may not feel comfortable with them being recorded.
