The Private & Public Medium

Step into the next phase of your mediumship with an in-person 2-day workshop designed to explore two exciting worlds of practice: the private reading and the public platform. 

This workshop is suited to mediums of intermediate level and above who are comfortable establishing a link with the spirit world and wish to expand their range, refine their delivery, and explore the different elements, and gifts, of both private and public mediumship.

In private sittings, we meet people in intimate moments of uncertainty, change, grief and growth. They may seek connection with loved ones in spirit, guidance from their spirit team, or clarity at pivotal crossroads. In public settings such as spiritualist churches, community centres or message circles, the medium learns to hold presence for a room as people come together to experience spirit communication.

Private sittings are an ideal space to experiment, stretch your range, and develop the sensitivity that deepens spirit communication, and these skills transfer naturally into group work. 

Public work allows you to experience the presence of spirit in a more amplified way, as the collective of loved ones in spirit connected to your participants draw close. You can enjoy working indirectly; inviting a spirit communicator to step forward first and then identifying who they have come for through the evidence shared. This strengthens your ability to keep awareness with your spirit contact even while engaging with the recipient. Public work also builds your capacity to sustain the power and move between communicators with greater clarity and ease - qualities that also enrich private readings.

This in-person 2-day workshop includes:

You'll be guided through the practical and energetic skills that support both styles of working, including:

• The foundations that hold everything together
  
  • A strong connection with spirit and clear communication as the basis for all effective mediumship.

• Private sitting skills
  • Building structure in a one-to-one reading, strengthening evidence, working with spirit guides and loved ones, and responding to the sitter's emotional and spiritual needs with clarity and care.

• Public work skills
  • Exploring direct and indirect approaches; keeping focus with the spirit contact, whilst addressing the group, managing nerves, holding presence, and delivering messages that are both evidential and meaningful.

• Message circles as a bridge
  • Exploring how message circles can naturally blend communications from the spirit world and spirit guides, to benefit group formats.

• This is a highly experiential workshop with:
  • Guided meditations and valuable time spent "sitting in the power"
  • Group exercises and structured paired work
  • Opportunities to develop platform confidence in a supportive environment

Entry requirements

• This workshop is suited to students of intermediate level and above who are comfortable establishing a link with the spirit world. 
• You don't need to be planning public / platform work to benefit from this workshop.
• Those who have completed any Intermediate course and/or Advanced course at The College of Psychic Studies will benefit.
• Those who have trained elsewhere, and who are proficient and confident in their psychic mediumship abilities are welcome.
