Explore the tarot as a tool for collective storytelling and group connection in this in-person workshop with tarot tutor Bel Senlle and James Jude, joining us from his tarot residency at TarotArts in Los Angeles.

Tarot is often understood as a private dialogue between reader and cards. However, it also holds powerful potential as a group tool. The cards can reveal shared patterns, connections and stories that emerge only when people read them together. This approach transforms the tarot from a deck of insights into a social language that can bring us closer together and reveal the common threads between a room full of strangers.

What to expect

This is an interactive, participatory day in which we will work with tarot as a tool for constellation building. Working with your own tarot card alongside those of your neighbours, you'll generate interlinked past, present and future stories. As these narratives are shared, considered, altered and retold, the group builds a collective 'spread', profoundly meaningful for all as connections emerge across the room.

You do not need any familiarity with tarot to join this experience. Bel and James will guide you through different interpretative techniques rooted in visual language, tarot numerology and free-associative and intuitive skills.

This in-person workshop includes:

  • An interactive, collaborative group tarot reading
  • Techniques for building tarot constellations across a group
  • Various interpretative approaches to the tarot
  • How to apply tarot in group readings, events, creative work and social gatherings

Meet your tutors, Bel Senlle & James Jude

James Jude founded the Los Angeles Festival of Tarot and hosts the Tarot Talk Show with Laetitia Barbier. Bel's visual, ritual-based practice and James's narrative, scholarly approach make them a perfect pair to guide this workshop at The College of Psychic Studies.
