Tarot Reflections for Samhain

Sense into the thinning veil this Samhain with an in-person workshop exploring ancestral connection, release and shadow work through the transformative language of tarot.

Samhain, falling on 31st October–1st November, is the ancient Celtic festival marking the end of harvest and the beginning of winter. As the Celtic New Year, it is considered one of the most spiritually significant dates in the wheel of the year – a time when the veil between the physical and spirit worlds is at its thinnest, making it a natural moment for divination and connection with the other side.

This workshop uses tarot, the mirror to the soul, to guide you through ancestral connection, honest reflection, and the deep work of the shadow – helping you honour the season, your place within it, and those who came before you.

Meet your tutor, Avril Price

Avril Price is a tarot master with over 40 years' experience working with the cards, and more than two decades as a teacher and consultant at The College of Psychic Studies. Known for grounding spiritual concepts into practical, everyday life, Avril has taught hundreds of students, delivered thousands of readings, and built a thriving Tarot community through her sold-out courses. Her deep, intuitive teaching style and gift for making complex ideas accessible make her uniquely suited to guide this powerful seasonal work.

What to expect

This interactive, in-person workshop combines tarot crafting, shared storytelling, guided exercises and spirit communication to create a rich, reflective space for personal and ancestral exploration. You'll work with the cards traditionally associated with Samhain – Death, The Hermit, The Tower and Judgement – as tools for deeper self-understanding.

This in-person workshop includes:

• Ancestral connection: Explore who you are as an ancestor, what messages you carry from your lineage, and what footprint you will leave behind.
• Reflection and release: Consider your personal "harvest" and what you are being called to let go of, focusing on transformation both practically and spiritually.
• Shadow work: Take a deep dive into fears, grief and hidden truths, illuminating the areas of darkness unique to you.
• Tarot crafting: Work with a guided spread, shared stories and intuitive exercises to deepen your connection to the cards.
• Spirit communication: Explore connecting with a guide as part of this seasonal practice.
