Do you speak tarot? This three-part livestream workshop proposes a shift in how we approach the Arcana: not as isolated symbols or fixed meanings, but as a structured language with its own internal logic.

In these three classes, we will step away from traditional spreads and instead examine the cards as linguistic units capable of forming statements, clauses and narrative breaks.

This 3-part online workshop includes:

  • Principles from linguistics, semiotics and narrative theory applied to tarot
  • How different cards function within a reading, identifying:
    • Which cards act as subject
    • Which cards introduce action or movement
    • Which cards operate as complement, modifier or mood

As with spoken languages, tarot does not communicate through a single syntax: its grammar is flexible, context-dependent and shaped by position, emphasis and relation.

By learning to recognise these grammatical roles, readers can access a more nuanced and coherent understanding of a reading's message. This approach invites greater precision, interpretive clarity and a deeper sensitivity to how meaning is generated through sequence rather than prescription.

Book now to deepen your tarot knowledge and examine the cards in a refreshing new way.
