Discover the science behind how we 'feel what we feel' and why this can help you be a more empathic healer, body-worker, psychotherapist, homeopath, yoga teacher or similar, in this 6-week livestream course.

Raising body awareness and understanding your own sensations helps you to recognise the subtle and non-verbal communication that happens when working with clients. This online course will bring a new level of expertise to enrich your personal and professional practise.

This online course includes:

  • Looking at what muscle memory is and how it holds life stories
  • Finding out if gut instinct is 'real' or imagined
  • Learning how mirror neuron nerves enable us to feel empathy
  • Discovering ways to restore balance for yourself and others
  • Learning how to use your body as a barometer of communication
  • Finding ways to centre yourself using your skeleton
  • Discovering connections between the body and the natural world

Understanding anatomy and physiology can clarify your intention when working with the body. It also helps to reframe distorted body perceptions so that they become more aligned with reality - a healing in itself. We begin with an orientation around the body to get a holistic perspective. As well as considering similarities between the body and planet earth e.g. bones of the body and stones of the earth.

To place the above topics within a context we look primarily at the nervous system - the system of sensation. Aspects of the muscular, skeletal, digestive and endocrine systems will be incorporated to see how the body works as an integrated whole.

Book now to learn an embodied approach that weaves together anatomical concepts with experiential exercises, mindfulness, gentle movement and self-reflection to bring together knowledge and personal experience.

A certificate of attendance will be given to those who attend all six sessions of the course (certificates are only issued to those who attend the classes live; they are not available for those watching via recordings).
