Chakra Courses

The chakras, or subtle energy centres, were developed as a concept in medieval India, and were adopted by hatha yoga practitioners in the 15th century. 

The seven main chakras familiar to us today are based on the 16th-century text, the Sat-Chakra-Nirupana (Description of the Six Chakras), translated by Sir John Woodroffe (Arthur Avalon) in his early 20th-century book The Serpent Power. However, thanks to the Theosophical Society and the rise in yoga's popularity, chakras have become integral to healing and energy work.
